Lane closures announced by Springfield Office of Public Works

Posted:
SPRINGFIELD - Springfield's Office of Public Works has announced lane closures related to two maintenance projects scheduled to begin October 15.

The first project is to repair an inlet, and will force the closure of the eastbound lanes of Ash Street at 1st Street.  The lane is anticipated to be closed for the remainder of the week, weather permitting.  Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes.  Any motorists that disregard the "Road Closed" and "Do Not Enter" signs will be subject to a $250 fine.

The second project will repair a sewer cave-in, and will result in the closure of the right northbound lane of Taylor Avenue between Laurel Street and South Grand Avenue.  The repairs and lane closure are expected to last for the remainder of the week, weather permitting.  Motorists and pedestrians are being asked to use caution in this area, and to watch for trucks entering and leaving the roadway.
