Recycling drive aims to raise money to fight domestic violence

SPRINGFIELD - Sojourn Shelter & Services will partner with Midwest Computer Processing to raise money during an electronics recycling event on October 25.

Individuals looking for a safe way of recycling their old electronics will be able to do so at no cost during the drive, located at 1800 Westchester Boulevard in Springfield from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Midwest Computer Processing professionals will be on site to properly handle and recycle all electronics.  They will also delete all data from all hard drives being recycled by using Department of Defense standards, which many financial institutions, medical facilities, and major corporations use.

Items accepted at this recycling drive include desktop computers, laptop computers, tablets, non-CRT monitors, printers, scanners, copiers, telephone systems, cell phones, computer-related batteries, networking equipment, server equipment, computer related cables, keyboards, mice, pointing devices, point of sale systems, radios, VHS Players, CD/DVD players, and non-CRT televisions.

Appliances, CRT televisions, and CRT monitors will not be accepted at this event.

All proceeds from this event will benefit Sojourn Shelter and Services.
