Illinois high school juniors and seniors can serve as election judges

MONTICELLO - Several high school students throughout central Illinois will be able to serve as election judges on Election Day.

Junior and senior high school students in Illinois are eligible to be election judges if they have permission from a parent or guardian and their high school principal, undergo training, and maintain a 3.0 grade point average.

Piatt County will enlist student judges for the first time this year.  According to Piatt County Clerk Colleen Kidd, students who are chosen to be election judges can be very helpful, as most of the voting process is now technology-based, and older election judges sometimes have trouble.
