Election Day could be turning point for U of I Board of Trustees

CHAMPAIGN - According to political experts, Election Day could be a potential turning point for the University of Illinois Board of Trustees.

In addition to searching for a chancellor at the Chicago campus, a new president at the Urbana-Champaign campus will need to be selected by November.  The next governor of Illinois will also decide if three members will continue to serve on the board.

The terms of board Chairman Chris Kennedy, Pamela Strobel, and Ed McMillan will end in January 2015.

Brian Gaines, political science professor at the University of Illinois, says the number of possible changes hasn't been this high since the mid-1990's
