Used motor oil collection event to be held in Danville

Posted:
DANVILLE - Carmack Car Capitol and Keep Vermilion County Beautiful will be sponsoring a used-oil collection event on November 14.

Residents are encouraged to bring their used oil to Carmack Car Capitol at 3724 North Vermilion Street from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. so it can be recycled at no cost to residents.  Individuals can bring in up to 100 gallons, and the oil must be in a sturdy container like metal barrels or milk jugs.

This collection event is being held to help prevent the improper disposal of motor oil.  Oil that's poured into storm drains, onto the ground, or tossed in trash cans can contaminate and pollute the soil, groundwater, streams, and rivers.
