Ebola task force formed by state of Illinois

SPRINGFIELD - A task force designed to advise on responding to Ebola has been formed by the state of Illinois.

On Wednesday, Governor Pat Quinn's office announced that the task force was established by executive order with the Illinois Department of Public Health.  The task force will be led by Deputy Governor Cristal Thomas and IDPH Director Dr. LaMar Hasbrouck, with members of the group including nurses, physicians, and other officials from health care groups.

Quinn's office also says the group will ensure that the state will make a coordinated effort to inform the public about any situations involving testing for Ebola.  The governor's office also says task force members will assess the state's readiness to respond to the virus, as well as help designate treatment centers.
