Man Arrested in Connection with House Explosion


DECATUR - A man is being held in connection with house explosion in June.  Jacob S. Larry, 26, is charged with two counts of burglary, reckless conduct, theft over $500.00, and criminal damage over $100,000. Police suspect Larry of stealing thousands of dollars worth of copper wires from a school, apartment complex, an Ameren substation and vacant home on North Monroe Street in Decatur. The copper theft allegedly led to a gas leak that caused the home to explode.

Larry is being held in the Macon County Jail.
