Baby found in trash bin in Jacksonville to stay with foster parents

JACKSONVILLE - Illinois officials say a newborn baby who was found alive inside a trash bin behind a Jacksonville business in August 2014 will remain in foster care.

Last week, Illinois Department of Children and Family Services officials and Morgan County prosecutors came to an agreement that the baby boy should remain with his foster parents.  Previously, IDCFS officials wanted the baby to be placed with a relative, while prosecutors wanted the baby to remain in foster care.

Authorities say the baby's 17-year-old mother faces an attempted murder charge.  A hearing in the girl's case is scheduled for November 13.
