Bloomington accountant's cause of death determined

BLOOMINGTON - In an update to a story WAND brought to you earlier today, McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling says a central Illinois woman found dead in her business in Bloomington was shot to death.

According to Kemmerling, Pamela S. Zimmerman, 53, was found in her office by Bloomington police on Tuesday after authorities received a call from someone they described as a "concerned friend."  Following an autopsy performed on Wednesday, Kemmerling said that Zimmerman died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Zimmerman was a 1979 graduate of Maroa-Forsyth High School where she was Senior Class President and Valedictorian. She received her degrees in Accounting and Management from Eastern Illinois University.

Kemmerling says the circumstances surrounding Zimmerman's death remain suspicious.  No further details were available.
