Volunteers needed for disabled deer hunt

LAKE SHELBYVILLE - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Lake Shelbyville's Lake Volunteers Association are seeking volunteers for the 25th annual Deer Hunt for People with Disabilities on November 21, 22, and 23.

Officials say volunteers are needed to assist in helping the hunters move to and from blinds, field dressing, tracking, moving the deer from the woods, and helping around deer camp, which is located just south of Sullivan.

Volunteers will also be needed in the mornings and evenings to help set up food, clean up after meals, and make coffee.  A hunter/volunteer orientation and dinner is scheduled to be held on November 20.

If you'd like to help out with this event, call Park Ranger Tyler Goble at (217) 774-3951, extension 7019.
