Central Illinois man sentenced to 285 years in prison

BLOOMINGTON - A central Illinois man has received a 285-year prison sentence in connection with a series of sexual assaults on two minors.

Authorities say Michael Hubbard, 29, received the prison sentence on Thursday.  In September, Hubbard pleaded guilty to one count of criminal sexual assault of a boy under the age of 13 and seven counts of seven counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a second boy.  Authorities say the assaults occurred between August 2012 and December 2013.

In addition to the other charges, Hubbard also pleaded guilty to aggravated child pornography.  According to McLean County Sheriff's Detective Tim Tyler, videos seized from Hubbard's home contained sexually explicit images of the two boys.

Prosecutors had asked for a sentence of 420 years in prison.  Officials say the maximum sentence for the crimes could have been up to 525 years.
