CHAMPAIGN - The Champaign Police Department is searching for a driver involved in a Thursday morning hit-and-run accident.

Champaign police say on November 7 at about 8:10 a.m., a 17-year-old girl was walking to school in the area of Clark Street and New Street when she was struck by a sports utility vehicle.  Police say the driver got out of her car to check on the girl, but left without providing any identifying information.  The girl's parents took her to a local hospital for treatment of minor leg injuries.

Police say the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run is described as a bright blue SUV with a missing passenger-side mirror.  The driver of the SUV is described as an Asian female in her 30's, with blonde hair and dark roots.

If you have any information on the vehicle or the driver, you are asked to call the Champaign Police Department at (217) 351-4545 or Crime Stoppers at (217) 373-8477.
