CCHCC officials to hold health insurance community meeting

CHAMPAIGN - Champaign County Health Care Consumers will hold a meeting on Year Two of the Affordable Care Act's Health Insurance Marketplace on November 12.

The meeting will take place in Champaign Public Library's Robeson Rooms A and B at 6:00 p.m.  CCHCC officials will offer information on several topics, such as the types of medical insurance offered through Health Insurance Marketplace, financial assistance available to help make insurance more affordable, Medicaid, and how to get ready for Marketplace Open Enrollment.

The Marketplace is scheduled to re-open for enrollment for 2015 health coverage on November 15, 2014, and will remain open until February 15, 2015.  During this time, individuals can enroll in new health plans, compare and change plans, renew their coverage for another year, and update income information and tax credits.

This informational community meeting is free and open to the public, and is co-sponsored by Barham Benefit Group, Carle, Dixon Graphics, Health Alliance, Illinois Disciples Foundation, Molina Healthcare, Presence Covenant Medical Center, Promise Healthcare, Urbana Acupuncture, and Wesley United Methodist Church Social Action Ministry.
