Mobile HIV Clinic Stops Through Decatur

There was free HIV testing in Decatur, Friday evening, at the tobacco shack on West Grand Avenue.  In fact, the mobile health clinic  is offering tests for all the major STD's.  Based out of Springfield, the mobile clinic travels across Illinois, stopping in "under-served" areas.  The group is called Fifth Street Renaissance Mobile Services.  Staff members say many people simply  don't have access  to quality health care.

"We go to places that you don't typically see other services being provided and we try to reach people who are not going to walk into a health department or a social service agency to receive these services," said director Penny Harris.

The clinic will return to the same spot next month.
