Third teen dies from injuries sustained in 2-vehicle crash

SPRINGFIELD - A third central Illinois teenager has succumbed to injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash that happened on November 5.

Dana Janssen, 17, died at a Springfield hospital on Saturday.  Illinois State Police say Janssen was the driver of one of the vehicles in the crash.

Authorities say Janssen was driving a car home from Lincolnwood High School with Samantha DeLisle, 16, and Jeffrey Masters, 17, when her tires left the roadway.  Illinois State Police say Janssen then overcorrected, which sent her vehicle into the path of an oncoming minivan.

Authorities say the van hit the car's passenger side, resulting in the death of DeLisle.  Masters, who was a backseat passenger, later died at a Litchfield hospital.  Police say the driver of the van received treatment for minor injuries.
