Illinois State Police announce 2 arrests made in death of child

PARIS - Illinois State Police say they have arrested two individuals in connection with the death of an eastern Illinois child.

Authorities say on November 5 at approximately 4:00 p.m., Illinois State Police Zone 5 Investigations responded to a request from the Paris Police Department and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services to investigate a report of a severely injured child, 2-year-old Landon Weaver, who had been transported to a hospital in Paris, Illinois.

Due to the severity of the Landon's injuries, Illinois State Police say he was airlifted to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Police say he died at the hospital on November 10.

Weaver's death is being investigated by the Illinois State Police Zone 5, the Paris Police Department, and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.  As a result of the ongoing investigation, Illinois State Police have announced that two individuals have been arrested in connection with Weaver's death.

Illinois State Police say Weaver's mother, Selena Hall, 21, and her boyfriend, James Watson, 32, were arrested Wednesday morning, and are being held pending to filing of criminal charges related to Weaver's death.
