Springfield police arrest two in report of shots fired

SPRINGFIELD - Springfield police say two individuals have been arrested in connection to a report of shots being fired late Wednesday night.

Springfield police say at about 11:52 p.m. on November 12, officers responded to the 2700 block of Poplar Avenue for a report of shots being fired.  Officers say when they arrived in the area they saw a dark-colored van traveling through the apartment complex, with occupants firing shots from the vehicle.

Springfield police say the officers pulled in behind the suspect vehicle, and that officers saw the suspects firing a weapon in their direction.  Police say the suspects then traveled out of the apartment complex and down residential streets until coming to a stop on Manor Court, where they were apprehended without further incident.

Springfield police say the two men that were arrested were Terrance Toney, 26, and T'Ashero Williams, 43.  Toney faces preliminary charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.  Williams faces preliminary charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and resisting a police officer.
