Illinois man and woman face first-degree murder charges in 2-year-old's death

PARIS - In an update to a story WAND brought you Wednesday, authorities say two individuals have been formally charged in connection with the death of a two-year-old boy.

According to Illinois State Police, Selena Hall, 21, and her boyfriend, James Watson, 32, were arrested on Wednesday as a result of an ongoing investigation into the death of Hall's son, Landon Weaver, 2.

Authorities say Hall has been charged with first-degree murder, and that Watson has been charged with first-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter.  Both Watson and Hall are being held on $500,000 bond.

Illinois State Police say Weaver died on November 10 from injuries he sustained on November 5.  Weaver's death is being investigated by the Illinois State Police Zone 5, the Paris Police Department, and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
