Central Illinois woman convicted of felony looting after tornado

PEKIN - Authorities say a central Illinois woman is facing up to three years in prison after being convicted of felony looting after a tornado last November.

According to authorities, Ayron Casey took items from the yard of a Washington couple whose home was destroyed by a tornado.  Two others have also been charged with looting after the tornado.

Casey said she wants the homeowners to know that she's sorry for her actions, and that she believed the items that she took were being thrown out.

Authorities say two previous theft convictions in the last 10 years will also be considered during Casey's sentencing date, which is scheduled for January 8.
