Warming centers open throughout the state to combat cold temperatures

SPRINGFIELD - As temperatures continue to fall, Illinois officials have announced the opening of more than 100 warming centers across the state.

Officials say Illinois Department of Human Services offices will be used as warming centers.  Those centers will be opened to the public from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Illinois Department on Aging and Governor Pat Quinn are encouraging people to use the warming centers and check on the elderly during this cold weather.
