BUNKER HILL-He's 80 years old and has been imprisoned in California for decades for murdering seven people, but Charles Manson has been granted a license to marry a 26-year-old woman who grew up in Bunker Hill, Illinois. Afton Elaine Burton, who goes by the name "Star," thinks Manson is innocent. "It's so easy to see and you don't have to be a lawyer to see it," she says in a YouTube Video. "It's so obvious that Charles Manson was railroaded." Burton maintains websites in support of Manson and became interested in him when she was just a teenager, because of his environmental message through ATWA, or Air, Trees, Water, Animals Afton's mother, Melissa Burton did not agree to go on camera, but spoke to us over the phone. She says, "my daughter is not a freak. She's a very loving and compassionate person. She's very loved by her whole family. Just because somebody doesn't understand somebody's decision, doesn't mean they should judge them." Manson has always maintained his innocence. Even if they do marry, Manson will not be allowed to be alone with his wife. Currently, he faces life behind bars.
