Grand jury will not indict Missouri police officer in shooting death

FERGUSON, Mo. - A St. Louis County grand jury has decided to not indict a Ferguson, Missouri police officer who fatally shot a teen earlier this year.

The grand jury's decision was announced by St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch Monday evening.  Jurors began hearing evidence in the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown on August 20.  Brown was fatally shot by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, 28, on August 9.

Brown's death resulted in several protests and civil unrest, and multiple investigations of the incident were launched.  Three autopsies were also conducted by county, independent, and federal medical examiners.
