Broken wiring causes power outage in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD - City Water, Light & Power officials say broken wiring has caused a power outage on the east side of Springfield.

Officials say the break affects residents in the vicinity of South 11th Street, and that the CWLP Electric Division is in the process of re-routing power, which is estimated to be completed by or before 1:00 p.m.

Following the re-routing of power, about 195 customers in the area bounded by South 11th and South 13th streets on the west and east and Ash and Laurel streets on the north and south are expected to remain without power until the broken wiring can be repaired.  Repairs are estimated to take approximately two-to-three hours.
