1 dead after early-morning Harristown fire

HARRISTOWN - Authorities say one person has died in an early-morning house fire in Harristown on November 28.

According to the Macon County Sheriff's Office, deputies and the Harristown Fire Department were dispatched at about 12:30 a.m. to the 700 block of Moyer Road for a report of a fire.  Upon arriving, firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, after which responders found a body inside the structure.

Authorities say the fire and discovery of a body inside the burned structure is currently being investigated by the Macon County Sheriff's Office's Investigations Division and Macon County Coroner Michael Day.  Officials say the deceased individual's identity has not been confirmed, but an autopsy has been scheduled for November 29.
