Urbana police investigate two armed robberies

URBANA - The Urbana Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in solving two robberies that occurred on October 27 and November 30.

Urbana police say at about 4:00 a.m. on November 30, an armed suspect entered a gas station in the 1800 block of Philo Road.  Police say the suspect pointed a silver semi-automatic handgun at the clerk, and demanded money and cigarettes.  Urbana police also say another armed robbery by a similar suspect happened at the same gas station on October 27/

In both incidents, Urbana police say a female entered the gas station prior to the robbery.  Authorities say the female has been identified and interviewed, but she was uncooperative.  Urbana police say her picture cannot be released, as she is a juvenile.

Police say the suspect is described as a black male, standing at about 5'10" with a tall build.  He was wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes with a black back pack.  He was also wearing a full coverage face mask, which featured an exaggerated smile.
