PAXTON - Two Illinois men who kidnapped and robbed a central Illinois businessman have been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison.

Authorities say Evigan Marcos was sentenced to 26 years in prison for armed robbery, while Rodolfo Cerritos was sentenced to 25 years in prison for armed robbery.  Both men also received five-year prison sentences for kidnapping, which will be served concurrently with their armed robbery sentences.

The man Cerritos and Marcos kidnapped, Joel Hastings, says the men hit him with a baseball bat and pointed a gun at him before taking credit cards and money.  Hastings also says the men kidnapped him for an afternoon and threatened his family.

Authorities also say Cerritos and Marcos attempted to extort $50,000 from Hastings.  FBI officials arranged for Hastings to leave $50,000 in a park, where they arrested Cerritos after authorities say they saw him take the money.
