SPRINGFIELD - Illinois Department of Natural Resources officials say deer hunters will be able to purchase muzzleloader and firearm permits from vendors this week.

According to the IDNR, the remaining muzzleloader and firearm permits will be sold by over-the-counter vendors until December 7, or until quotas are exhausted.  Beginning on December 9, late-winter antlerless-only deer county permits will be available for purchase from vendors and the IDNR.

Those who participate in deer hunting are also encouraged by IDNR officials to donate whole deer to the Illinois Sportsmen Against Hunger Program.  The program delivers processed venison to food banks and charities throughout Illinois.
