Macon County Conservation District to hold winter survival event

Posted:
DECATUR - Macon County residents will have the chance to learn basic winter survival skills during a special event at Rock Springs Nature Center on December 13.

Macon County Conservation District volunteer Joe Hunt will show participants how to keep calm and act smart during this event, which takes place from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Hunt will explain how to start a fire, build a shelter, and find food and water in winter weather conditions.

Individuals ages 10 and up can participate in this free event, but you must pre-register online by December 12.  For more information, or to register, visit www.maconcountyconservation.org.
