The men of Millikin Baseball are no strangers to giving back. They spent their Saturday afternoon working on a brand new house for a single mother. Habitat for Humanity has been building the home since may using volunteers from different organizations every step of the way. Millikin athletes got word that more help was needed to finish the project, so they reached out, and this morning spent hours putting in work.
"People will see Millikin Baseball helping out, and show what a great organization this is not only just for baseball, but that we actually go out and help the community," said team member, Connor Shaw.
Habitat for Humanity will build more homes this winter. Organizers say the need for them is great and they want more young people to get involved. The home is expected to be finished in a few weeks.
