Illinois businesses reminded about state tax rollback

SPRINGFIELD - State leaders are reminding Illinois businesses to make adjustments in the way employees' state income taxes are calculated beginning January 1.

Members of Governor Pat Quinn's administration are reminding employers that the state's temporary income tax increase of five percent will roll back to three-and-three-quarters percent on January 1, 2015.  According to Illinois Department of Revenue spokesperson Sue Hofer, state officials wanted to make sure that employers can make adjustments, and that "people will notice that in their paychecks."

State officials also posted the information on the Illinois Department of Revenue's website earlier this week.
