Residents' input needed for Community Health Needs Assessment

DECATUR - HSHS St. Mary's Hospital officials are asking central Illinois residents to participate in this year's Community Health Needs Assessment.

Officials say the hospital conducts the assessment every three years in order to identify the community's top health needs, as well as local resources to help address those needs.  HSHS St. Mary's Hospital provides millions of dollars to Community Benefit programs and services every year, based on the assessment.

These programs, collectively known as Community Benefit and supported by HSHS St. Mary's Hospital, help the hospital to enhance the health and wellness of the community, improve access to health care services, and the advance medical or health care knowledge.
