Girl With Cancer Flooded with Christmas Cards

MATTOON-Christmas is certainly a lot brighter for one Central Illinois girl with cancer.
Eight-year-old Kaitlen Thompson of Mattoon has an inoperable tumor around the optic nerve.
She asked for Christmas cards- we were able to speak with her a few weeks ago.
Our story went viral, posted on the site Reddit.  Kaitlen's story on facebook also had many shares.
Since then, Kaitlen has received thousands of cards, letters and toys, some from as far away as Japan, England, Spain, and Portugal.
The letter carrier says her mail gets its own gurney at the post office.
He says the response to the story has been incredible and he's never seen anything like this.
"The day you deliver it, it doesn't even seem like a job.  It's just such a pleasure to bring such happiness to a little girl," Chris Shafer says.
Kaitlen also thanks everyone who has sent her mail.  She says she's very happy.
Katilen's mom, Mary Luna, says she's overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and happy that her daughter's Christmas has been so happy this year.
