Oldest man in the U.S. dies at 110

ROCKFORD - A northern Illinois resident, who was also verified as the oldest living man in the nation, has passed away at the age of 110.

C. Conrad Johnson died on Tuesday, December 23, 2014.  Johnson was born in Sweden on January 19, 1904.  He worked as a carpenter and lived in Rockford for most of his life.

According to Gerontology Research Group senior database administrator Robert Young, Johnson was the oldest verified man in the U.S.  However, several women have been verified as older, with the oldest living woman in the nation having a verified age of 116 years.
