PEORIA - Peoria authorities say a toddler has been pronounced brain dead one day after allegedly being beaten by his mother's boyfriend.

Peoria police say on December 22, 19-month-old Koffi Harris was brought to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center with head trauma and other multiple injuries.  Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says Harris was pronounced brain dead on Tuesday.  Ingersoll also says Harris will remain on life support until his organs can be donated.

Peoria police also say Deon Wells, 19, has been arrested and charged with aggravated battery in connection with this incident.  Wells is currently being held on $1.2 million bond.
