Champaign police arrest man in connection with December shooting

CHAMPAIGN - Champaign Police say a man who was wanted in connection with the shooting of a teen has been arrested at a home in Rantoul.

Authorities say Actavious Crockett, 19, was arrested without incident on January 5, 2014.  Crockett was wanted for armed violence, in connection with the December 30, 2014 shooting of a 17-year-old boy.  The teen sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Crockett remains in custody at the Champaign County Correctional Center.  His bond is currently set at $750,000, and he's due back in court Tuesday afternoon.  If anyone has any further information on this shooting, you are asked to contact Champaign police at (217) 351-4545 or Champaign County Crime Stoppers at (217) 373-8477.
