IDNR Hunter Safety Education Class offered in Decatur

DECATUR - The Macon County Conservation District is offering an Illinois Department of Natural Resources Hunter Safety Education Class for central Illinois residents this January.

Officials say the classes will be held at Rock Springs Nature Center on January 26 and 28 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on January 30 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.  Participants of this class will learn about hunter ethics and rules, and will gain a better understanding of equipment used.

Officials also say this course will satisfy the "Hunter Safety Education class" requirement that all Illinois hunters must complete, and once the course has been completed, hunters will not be required to retake the class.  This course will be offered for free, and there is no age limit.  However, students must attend all three classes and pass a written test.  To participate, you must register online by January 23.
