Mahomet police search for tire-slashing suspects

MAHOMET - The Mahomet Police Department is seeking information from the public in regards to a series of tire slashings that happened in the Hunter's Ridge subdivision.

Mahomet police say they received several reports of tires being cut or otherwise deflated on Timber Wolf Drive during the week of Christmas and New Year's Day.  Police say in one of the incidents, a resident confronted the suspects, and was cut by a blade after catching one of them.

The suspects in these incidents are described as three teenage males, all wearing black-colored clothing.  Two of the suspects were described as having skinny builds, while the third was described as being about 5'11" tall and weighing about 185 pounds.  One suspect wore a ski mask, the second wore a ball cap, and the third wore a stocking cap.  The suspects were last seen running into the Sandy Ridge subdivision.
