Southwestern Illinois woman charged in bank robberies

BENTON - A southwestern Illinois woman has been indicted by a federal grand jury on burglary charges in connection with three bank holdups.

Authorities say Easter Jimison, 37, faces three counts of bank burglary.

Police say Jimison allegedly held up the First Collinsville Bank in Caseyville on November 7, taking $4,600.  Investigators say that Jimison allegedly held up the Bank of Edwardsville in Swansea, but had a change of heart and apologized to the teller before leaving the building with no cash.  Investigators also say Jimison allegedly robbed First Collinsville Bank in Maryville on December 10.

Authorities say Jimison did not display a weapon during the alleged holdups.  No injuries have been reported in connection with the incidents.
