Decatur woman charged with drug-induced homicide

DECATUR - Decatur police say a Macon County woman has been arrested in connection with a drug-related death.

Authorities say Sandra Collins, 28, was arrested on drug-induced homicide charges on January 8, in connection with the November 2014 death of 43-year-old Ronald Beaman.  The charges allege that Collins provided Beaman with the drugs that led to his death.

In a sworn statement, Decatur police say Collins allegedly bought heroin and crack cocaine for herself and Beaman on November 7.  Decatur police say that Beaman died later that night from a drug overdose.

Collins is currently in custody at the Macon County Jail.  Her bond is set at $500,000.
