MAROA -- A great high school career for Jack Hockaday now gets a cherry on top.
Hockaday, the Maroa-Forsyth senior who's headed to play football at Iowa, was named to the MaxPreps High School All-American 2nd Team. He's the only athlete from Illinois to make either the first or second team.
While he'll likely be remembered as the quarterback who led Maroa-Forsyth to a 2012 state title and a 2014 runner-up finish, Hockaday made the All-American team as a linebacker, racking up 105 tackles and 5 interceptions in 14 games for the Trojans in 2014.
Hockaday committed to Iowa as a linebacker, where he'll join the football team following the school year.
The IHSA recently partnered with MaxPreps, a website that publishes scores, statistics, rosters, and other information for high school sports across the country.
