Rauner expected to issue order on improving ethics

SPRINGFIELD - Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner has announced plans to issue an executive order that would strengthen ethics in state government.

According to Rauner, Illinois has trouble competing with other state due to its history of ethics problems, alongside high taxes and over-regulation of business.  During his inaugural speech on Monday, Rauner said that action to "improve ethics and accountability in the executive branch of state government" will be taken on Tuesday.  However, it is not yet known what this executive order will entail.

Rauner added that Tuesday's executive order, along with other actions that follow, will be focused on "regaining our state's good name and reputation."
