Woman sentenced for role in pipe bomb case

URBANA, Ill. (AP) -- A Bloomington will spend the next three years in prison for her role in a plan to put a pipe bomb in her brother's mailbox in Decatur.

Linda Sue Curtis was sentenced Friday in federal court in Urbana.

Curtis pleaded guilty in October to conspiring with Lloyd Lockwood of Bloomington. Lockwood is serving a 10-year sentence for placing the explosive device in the mailbox. A bomb squad neutralized the explosive.

Court records show that Curtis wanted to get her brother in trouble because they were in an ongoing dispute over their mother's estate.
