DECATUR - A warehouse near the corner of East Grand and North Jasper caught fire late Wednesday afternoon in Decatur.
The building was used to house restaurant equipment and was nearly 100 years old.
Crews had to evacuate the homes nearby.
Michael Mize, Sr. lives across the street. After being evacuated, he spoke to WAND News, doing his best to make sense of it all.
"Hopefully, my insurance will step in and do what they're supposed to do," he said.
Fire crews reported several explosions throughout the evening as they tried to contain the fire.
There are no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
