Community Elements offering Mental Health First Aid training program

CHAMPAIGN - Community Elements has announced that members of the public will have the chance to participate in the national Adult Mental Health First Aid program in Champaign.

Training will be held over two days, during the afternoon of March 5 and morning of March 6, at 1801 Fox Drive in Champaign.  Mental Health First Aid is an eight-hour training certification course that teaches participants a five-step action plan to assess a situation, select and implement interventions, and secure appropriate care for the individual.

This training program tailored for response to the general adult population, and is intended for a wide variety of audiences, including friends and family of individuals with mental illness or addiction, key professionals not specifically trained in mental health, school and college leadership, faith communities, or anyone else interested in learning more about addiction and mental illness.
