3 juveniles arrested in connection with Wednesday robbery

URBANA - Authorities say three juveniles have been arrested in connection with the robbery of a gas station Wednesday night.

Authorities say at about 9:00 p.m., three suspects, armed with what appeared to be a handgun, took money and cigarettes from the store clerk.  Upon arriving, police officers learned that the robbery was caught on video by the store's surveillance system.

During their investigation, officers say three individuals were spotted, whose clothing looked similar to what the suspects were wearing.  Authorities say the three then attempted to run from the officers, with two being caught immediately and the third being found in a relative's home.  Officers say they found money and cigarettes in the vicinity and in the possession of the minors.  A search of the area on Thursday found a BB gun that police say could've been used in the robbery.

The three individuals, ages 14, 15, and 16, face aggravated robbery charges.  If convicted, the three minors could be held in the Department of Juvenile Justice until they turn 21.
