DECATUR - The Macon County Conservation District is giving resident the chance to view the planet Jupiter when it's closest to Earth during Jupiter at Opposition on February 6.

This event will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Rock Springs Nature Center.  In this program, participants will be given the chance to observe our solar system's largest planet while it is fully illuminated by the sun.  You'll be able to discover the planet's cloud bands using a telescope, and be able to use binoculars to view Jupiter's four largest moons.

Admission to this event is free, but you must pre-register online by February 5.  For more information, or to register, visit www.maconcountyconservation.org.
