Firefighter laid to rest

URBANA - Hundreds of firefighters, friends, and family are paying their last respects today to former Urbana firefighter Rusty Chism.

Chism, 50, died at 9:11 AM on Thursday, January 22, at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
He had suffered thymic cancer, a rare form of cancer in the chest.

Chism was a career firefighter and father of two who led a division in Urbana and an entire department in his hometown of St. Joseph.

The funeral procession started in Urbana and ended in St. Joseph.

A number of people have asked about where to make donations.
