Sangamon County authorities investigate retail theft, stolen vehicle
SPRINGFIELD - Sangamon County Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a stolen vehicle which was then used in a felony theft at White Oaks Mall.
Authorities say the vehicle, a gold-colored 1997 Lincoln Continental, was stolen from a parking lot at Memorial Medical Center sometime on or after January 22. Springfield police also say the vehicle was used in retail thefts before being found abandoned on January 28.
Police say surveillance video examined during their investigation shows the person who committed the thefts. We've included a still image of the video showing the woman in this article. Police also say that video showing the driver of the vehicle, described as a black male, is also available. However, no still images of the driver have been made available.
