Springfield police investigate armed robbery

SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an armed robbery that happened on January 28.

Police say at about 3:35 p.m., officers received reports that a business in the 500 block of West Monroe had been robbed.  Officers say the suspect was armed with a box cutter, and demanded money from an employee.  The suspect left the scene after a customer entered the business.

Springfield police say the suspect is described as a black male, about 20-30 years old, standing 6'-6'2" tall with a thin build, and was wearing a light gray sweat shirt and sweat pants.  The suspect is shown in the still images that we've attached to this article.
