Sherman Woman Wins Second Place on "Biggest Loser"
SHERMAN - A Central Illinois woman went all the way to the finale of NBC's "The Biggest Loser" on Thursday. Unfortunately, Sonya Jones did not take home the biggest prize. She came in a strong second, loosing by just one pound. Even still, her fans in Sherman cheered her on for simply making it this far. Dozens watched at a viewing party organized by Sonya's co-workers from Sherman elementary where she teaches P.E. She started the competition at 283 pounds and is finishing up at 139. That's a total loss of 144 pounds. Another interesting fact is that Sonya's lucky number is 44. It was her jersey number when she played semi-professional softball. Teachers say they were shocked when they saw she lost a total of 144.
